Are You Prepared for Flu Season?

Flu season can begin in October and continue through March.  Most people believe if you get your flu shot in October you will be immunized for the full flu season. This may not be true for you.  If you had your flu shot in October you may not be immunized through March.  The flu shot has a shorter life duration than the actual flu season.  There are times when your Physician will consider giving you a second flu shot in January to re immunize you for the second half of the flu season.  Please consult your Physician and see if a second flu shot would be recommended for you, and always good hand washing, eating right, getting a good night sleep, and avoiding those that are ill are all ways to stay well during the flu season. As the Registered Nurse for the Assisted Living here at Country Meadows Village, I am recommending a dose of self-pampering for your health’s sake! Come and join your friends who are already seeing the benefits.

Passing State Survey with Flying Colors

Country Meadows Village Passes State Survey  with Flying Colors Each assisted living is required by the state to undergo a thorough inspection every two years. The inspection includes evaluating resident care and staff training, medication management, activity programs, the kitchen and dining services as well as every other aspect of the facility. The inspectors talk with residents regarding their feelings about how they are cared for and their level of satisfaction. The inspectors stated that Country Meadows Village Assisted Living is in the top 5% in Oregon that attain a “deficiency free survey” and could serve as a training example for other assisted living communities.
